2025 Winter Series Clinic

San Jose Bicycle Club presents its annual Winter Series Skills Clinic on Saturday, November 1st, 2025 from 10:00am to 1:00 pm at Stevens Creek County Park, Lakeshore Picnic Area.

Location: Lakeshore Picnic Area , 12699-13491 Stevens Canyon Rd, Cupertino, CA 95014.

The clinic will cover a variety of riding skills with an emphasis on safety. This will include topics such as cornering skills, braking, navigating obstacles, body positioning, sprinting, pack riding skills, and climbing and descending skills. Regardless if you are new to cycling and looking to join some group rides or are an experienced racer, this is the clinic for you! Past clinics have been a rousing success, with most of the clinic graduates participating in the Winter Series mass start events. Many continued on to race USA Cycling sanctioned events.

The Winter Series is a handicapped series of time trials, criteriums and road rides held Sunday mornings starting in mid-October and continuing until mid-November. The events are a low-key way to discover the fast paced world of competitive cycling. The SJBC membership is known for its support and mentoring of new riders.

This clinic does not offer NCNCA upgrade points. Please refer to the NCNCA website for clinics that do.

Costs for the clinic are the following:

  • $30 - Clinic (adults, non members)
  • $25 - Clinic (adults, current members)
  • no charge - Juniors (annual membership is another $10; juniors must be annual members to participate)

Juniors (18 and under) will be accepted for the cost of the annual membership, and space is limited to four juniors.

Payments must be done in person (cash or check only) on the day. If bringing cash, please bring exact amount.

Student to instructor ratio is 6:1, with an 18 registrant limit.

Reservations will be accepted on a first come, first served basis. We filled within a few weeks in the past...sorry, no refunds as we have a limited amount of space.

How to sign up for the clinic:

  1. Send an email to our clinic registration coordinator indicating you want to reserve your spot at the clinic. Please provide your name, age, email address, and cell phone number.
  2. Have a waiver either on file or hard copy. See below.

Winter Series Events: Open to members and nonmembers. Events must be paid for in person at each event, cash only. Membership must be purchased online. We appreciate your understanding.

2025 Adult Membership (good through 2026 when purchased after 1 October 2025): $53.00 : Sign up Online.
2025 Junior Membership (good through 2026 when purchased after 1 October 2025): $10.00 : Sign up Online.

Individual Event - Adult members: $10.00 (Must be current member) Individual Event - Adult non-members: $15.00
Individual Event - Juniors: FREE (Must be current member)

Required: 2025 Winter Series Release Form (all sides)
ONLINE AVAILABLE FOR ADULTS ONLY: BikeReg Waiver
All: One release form for the entire series - Please bring to your first event.
JUNIORS MUST STILL DO HARD COPY: Parent must be present to sign form
