San Jose Bicycle
Club's Winter Series offers
11 events, including time-trials, a
hill climb, criteriums and 3 road rides.
The Winter Series is open to
club members only .
Club membership cost is $40.
Each event's registration fee is $8.
There are no membership or ride fees
for Juniors.
There is a new pricing schedule this
year, the cost will be $8.00 per event.
However, if you think you may do most
of the events, we are offering a season
pass for $65.00 for 11 rides, a
savings of $23.00 over the single event
price.
The Winter Series is an excellent chance
for cyclists of all levels to learn
the sport of racing in a low key fun
atmosphere. The series features 6 categories
with handicapping which allows everyone
an opportunity to enjoy a spot in the
winners circle.
To support the strong juniors effort
we have seen the past couple of years,
we will be awarding an 18 and
under trophy at the banquet
this year. Maybe one of these young
riders walks off with the overall and
the 18-under trophy!

Note:
All events are conducted on open courses
with vehicle traffic. ALL PARTICIPANTS
MUST OBEY THE CALIFORNIA VEHICLE CODE
AT ALL TIMES. Centerline rule will be
strictly enforced at the Trimble Crits
and Uvas Road events.
Riders were observed warming up without
helmets. Helmets are required anytime
you are on the roadway.
In accordance with California Vehicle
Code, ear buds and headphones are not
allowed. If you are seen wearing them
by either the Winter Series Coordinator,
a volunteer or a rider you will be DQ-ed
for that day's event and no points will
be awarded.

FORM to participate: offline

for volunteers to help run equipment,
marshal and be an extra set of eyes
and ears for Gary and I. Please contact
me if you have a spouse, girlfriend
(or boyfriend!) or just a friend that
would like to help out. I promise a
lot of excitement, fun and a great feeling
when you see some of the best riders
in the area zip by!
Winter
Series Rules:
Helmets are Mandatory.
To win the Overall Champion you must
complete 6 of 11 events.
In order to win your Category Title
you must complete 6 of 9 events.
To win the Road Champion you must complete
2 of 3 events.
To win the Time Trial Champion you must
complete 3 of 5 events.
To win the Scratch Trophy you must complete
all 5 Time Trial events. |
